Blue & Italian Greenery Wedding at Lansdowne Resort & Spa in Leesburg, Virginia
Christina & Antonio
Christina and Antonio tied the knot at the beautiful Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Virginia this Spring after nearly 10 years together! It was a perfect Spring day; their family and friends came from all over the country and world to see these two become husband and wife. They incorportated beautiful blue and gold details with Italian greenery into their decor throughout the day. Christina wore a stunning wedding dress from Ellie’s Bridal and carried a lush bouquet mixed with white, cream and blush florals and greenery from Burke Florist. Christina and Antonio tied the knot outdoors, overlooking Lansdowne Resort’s golf course.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom, the sun was shining, and it could not have been a more beautiful day! Their classic cultural wedding day included tributes to both of their heritages. She’s Irish and Italian; he’s Bolivian. They incorporated a super fun tradition into their ceremony with the ringing of the bells and the night ended with an Hora Loca. That was SO MUCH fun for me to be a part of and photograph!
I knew when I met these two last fall for their engagement session in Purcellville that these two were going to be so wonderful to work with. They are such relaxed, kind, and loving people, and I am SO HAPPY for them to be united as one now! I am actually super sad that their wedding day is over now because it’s been such a pleasure to get to know them better and photograph such a special time in their lives! I can’t to see what amazing things these two do, and I hope to have them in front of my camera again sooner rather than later! 🙂
From the couple:
Christina’s first look at Spain, during her studies there, captured her heart. She fell in love with the food, music and the culture. Then, in 2008, she met Antonio while they were working at Austin Grill and instead decided to give her heart to him. It is the little things that made her love grow, such as him bringing chips to Christina’s tables, working her double shifts, and staying late to keep her company. He definitely kept racking up the points with those duties! Time, A LOT OF IT, showed Christina and Antonio that they were destined to be together. (Even though 8 years to pop the question does seem a bit extreme! Ask Christina’s mother!) Christina initially hesitated (mostly due to shock), but moments later, those two magical words came out: “I Do.” Antonio proposed to Christina two days before Christmas (Christina’s favorite holiday). He had a special gift under their tree that was an ornament of two penguins that said, “the best thing in life to hold onto is each other.” The back of the ornament was engraved with “Will you marry me?”

Huge shout-out to my assistant, Ashley!
I am definitely a sucker for heirlooms! Christina wrapped this beautiful blue vintage ring, that belonged to her grandmother, with a silk ribbon around her bridal bouquet! I just loved that special detail!
Christina made an absolutely stunning bride!
We really lucked out with the timing, too! These cherry blossoms on the Lansdowne Resort property were so beautiful. I actually squealed with joy when I saw them because I knew they would look just gorgeous in their portraits!
Oh, that breeze …. just beautiful!
Had to sneak in a few more bride and groom portraits after they officially became husband and wife!
For obvious reasons….look at that soft, golden light!
I loved all of the gold accents!
These two knew how to throw a party!
Christina and Antonio – Congratulations on your wedding!!! I am so happy for you both and for your families! You two are such wonderful and amazing people, and I want to wish you a lifetime of love and joy together!
