Sage and Gray Wedding at The Black Horse Inn in Warrenton, VA | Kathy and Jack | Northern Virginia and Maryland Wedding Photographer
Kathy and Jack said “I Do” in Warrenton, VA this Spring and celebrated with their friends and family at the beautiful Black Horse Inn. This venue is tucked away in Warrenton, Virginia and offers so much variety for weddings and events!
I met Kathy and Jack last year when they got in touch with me and booked me as their wedding photographer. We met up at their alma mater, George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA for their engagement photo session. It was fall; the leaves were falling; and the weather was so perfect. We had a blast, and I loved getting to know them a little better. They shared with me how Jack proposed, too! These two met in college; they happened to both be attending a CPR class on campus in 2009. And the rest is history. 🙂
“Jack planned a trip to Europe for us in August of 2015. We stayed in London, saw many many castles throughout England, and then took a train to Edinburgh, Scotland. Jack told me he wanted to watch the sunset on our second to last night of the trip, so we hiked up the only mountain in Edinburgh (more like a large hill). We made it JUST in time to see the sun set over the city and the North Sea. Jack had been carrying the ring around Europe the whole time; I was so surprised. Right after he proposed, a canon went off over the castle in Edinburgh. Extremely romantic. He is my absolute best friend in the whole world.” – From the bride, Kathy
These two share of love for travel, fitness, and wanted to tie in lots of neutral elements and sage green because they loved all of the greenery so much while together in Scotland. Kathy made such a gorgeous bride, and I feel so lucky to know them both. Their wedding day was SUCH a special one, so I can’t wait for you to see some of my favorites from their celebration!

Kathy and Jack wrote letters to each other years ago, and they decided to open them and read them on their wedding day. Kathy shared with me that Jack wrote about how he knew they would be getting married someday…and she had just the sweetest smile on her face!
I absolutely adored these floral robes Kathy and her girls wore while getting ready!
Their rings were gorgeous!
Kathy spoiled her girls, and she also had these custom signs made with where she met each of her friends or knew them from. The signs have the latitude and longitude of the city, as well! What a fun and unique idea for her bridesmaids’ gifts!
This image of Kathy with her little sister and flower girl is one of my favorites!
Time for a quick father-daughter first look!
Father-daughter first looks are always some of my favorite parts of the wedding day to capture!
Now, it’s time to party!
I loved this candy bar they set up! It was so cute, and the custom bags were adorable!
