Romantic, Mountainside Elopement in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia | VA & Destination Wedding and Elopement Photographer
I can remember back to when Jessica first reached out to me about her and Adam’s elopement. She told me that she was so excited to be marrying him, and that when they first met, she knew she would marry him one day. He had walked into her office one day; she did not know who he was, but she knew that it was absolutely love at first sight. Isn’t that just the sweetest story you’ve ever heard?!
Jessica and Adam were together for about two years until they decided to go away for the weekend and elope. They drove up to Harpers Ferry, WV from Virginia Beach, without telling a lot of other people what they were truly up to. They told family and friends that they would be spending a long weekend away together, tucked away in the gorgeous mountains. These two said their “I do’s” at the Ledge House Bed and Breakfast in Historic Harpers Ferry during a beautiful weekend in March.
Jess and Adam opted for an elopement, because they wanted to just be together and focus on becoming husband and wife; they wanted to leave the hustle and bustle of wedding planning behind.
Jess wore an incredibly beautiful and romantic, backless wedding dress with lace details, and Adam could not take his eyes off of her the entire time!
I am so glad that I got to be a part of their special day. This was my first (and hopefully not my last!) elopement, and I am so grateful that it was with them! Thank you Jess and Adam for entrusting me with your memories. I hope you cherish these for a lifetime and more! Congratulations again to you both!
These two opted for a quick first look before the official ceremony began.
The sweet and simple ceremony on the balcony at the Ledge House was absolutely wonderful. They wrote their own vows, and I just loved the emotion. I could not help but think back to my own wedding day. In a way, we sort of eloped, and I can remember exactly how I felt looking back at my soon-to-be-husband as we got married. SO incredible, and I loved witnessing Jess and Adam do the same.
The Ledge House Bed and Breakfast is in such a beautiful and perfect location because it overlooks the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, as well as the surrounding mountains!
We did have a little bit of snow left from the storm earlier in the week. Luckily, Spring peeked through a bit, and we did have sunshine during portrait time!
Jess and Adam were eager to head into the historic part of Harpers Ferry, and I was so excited when we got to the old St. John’s Episcopal Church ruins. There is so much history in this town, and these ruins are one of my favorite spots in town! They are beautiful, and even more so with these two and their sweet love!
Jess and Adam are an amazing couple. They have two little ones, and now they couldn’t be happier to be husband and wife. I am so honored to have been able to witness and capture their elopement.
